Apple Cinnamon Proats

Dice the apple into small, bite-sized pieces. In a small saucepan, combine the rolled oats, water, diced apple, ground cinnamon, and a pinch of salt. Bring the mixture to a simmer over medium heat, stirring occasionally. Cook for 5-7 minutes, or until the oats are tender and have absorbed most of the liquid. Remove the saucepan from the heat. Let it cool for one minute, then stir in the protein powder and optional maple syrup until completely smooth and combined. Transfer to a bowl and serve immediately.
